Abstract: The title complex [Cd2(C23H14O6)2(C10H9N3)2(H2O)]n or [Cd2(pam)2(bpa)2(H2O)]n, (Hpam=pamoic acid, bpa=bis(2-pyridyl)amino) has been hydrothermally synthesized and characterized by X-ray diffraction, elemental analysis, thermal analysis, IR spectroscopy and fluorescence property. The X-ray single crystal diffraction analysis demonstrates that Cd(Ⅱ) ion is coordinated by four oxygen atoms from two different pam ligands, two nitrogen atoms from one bpa ligand, and one bridging coordinated water, forming a octahedron. The complex molecules form double-stranded helical chains with 1D nano-scale tub structure through bridging pam ligands and μ2-O bridge water molecules. These coordination polymer chains are further extended by Van Der Waals Forces and π-π stacking interactions to form a 3D supramolecular structure. CCDC: 743752.
