Abstract: One-dimension chain coordination polymer [Cd(phen)(α-Furacrylic acid)2]n has been synthesized by means of hydrothermal synthesis with α-Furacrylic acid and 1,10-phenan throline(phen). It crystallizes in the Orthorhombic space group Pbcn, with a=2.524 9(5) nm, b=1.106 5(2 )nm, c=0.786 86(16) nm, V=2.198 2(8) nm3, Dc=1.713 g·cm-3, Z=4, F(000)=1 136. Final GooF=1.245, R1=0.046 1, wR2=0.117 3. The crystal structure shows that the cadmium ion is coordinated with six oxygen atoms from four α-Furacrylic acid group, two nitrogen atoms from the 1,10-phenanthroline, respectively, forming a distorted square antiprism coordination geometry. One oxygen atom of the carboxyl of the α-Furacrylic acid group coordinated to the two cadmium(Ⅱ) ions with the bridge coordination mode, and the other oxygen atoms of the carboxyl of the α-Furacrylic acid group coordinated to the one cadmium(Ⅱ) ion resulting in the bisdentate chelated coordination mode. The two oxygen atoms that with bisdentate chelated coordination mode and the two cadmium(Ⅱ) ions from a parallelogram geometry. The luminescence property of the complex is also studied.
