Abstract: The geometry around Co center in bis(4-hydroxy-3-quinolinecarboxylate) bipyridine cobalt(Ⅱ) (1) , prepared by the hydrothermal treatment of ethyl 4-hydroxy-3-quinolinecarboxylate and CoCl₂ in the presence of pyridine, displays a slightly distorted octahedron in which two apical positions are occupied by py and equatorial plane is composed of four O atoms from two hydroxy and carboxylate groups. CCDC: 285591.
