Abstract: The grafting reaction of SnR4 onto the supercages of HY zeolite was studied under high vacuum condition, and the chemical composition and structure of resulted solid were characterized by in situ FT-IR, XRD, UV-Vis DRS, TPR, TPD, TG, BET, ICP, elemental analysis, gas chromatography, adsorption of nitrogen and hydrocarbons etc. The results showed that HY could react with SnMe4, SnEt4, SnPr4 and SnBu4 at 183, 243, 273and 333K, respectively, leading to the grafting of well-defined -SnR3 fragments onto the surface of zeolite supercages. The grafted HY zeolite was quite different from the starting HY zeolite in adsorption properties, and showed obvious size-selectivity for hydrocarbons. |
