Abstract: Sunpla (SKI2053R), an anti-tumor drug in clinic use, has been prepared by a new method in which mercurous ions instead of silver ones were used to remove the coordinating halide anions from the intermediate, [R(-NH2)2PtX2], and alkaline earth cations malonate or ammonium malonate were applied in the synthesis. The resulting platinum(Ⅱ) complex has been characterized with its IR, 1H-NMR and 13C-NMR, FAB-MS and TG-DTA spectra.
