Abstract: (ZrO2)0.92(Gd2O3)0.08 nanocrystallites with cubic phase were hydrothermally prepared in basic media by co- precipitate precursor of (Gd,Zr)(OH)x·yH2O. It is discovered that the cubic nanocrystalline size is affected by the hydrothermal reaction conditions of pH value, temperature, etc. The compact nanocrystalline powders were sintered at 1400℃, which was over 150℃ lower than traditional solid-state reaction temperature. The oxide-ionic conduction properties of these sinters were investigated by means of oxygen concentration cell and oxygen pump (electrochemical oxygen permeation) at 600~1000℃. The results show that the conduction in these sinters are almost pure oxide-ionic under oxygen atmosphere at the temperatures of higher than 800℃. |
