Abstract: Complexation of 4-azido-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine-1-oxyl (R1) and 4-oxybenzenesulfonyl-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine-1-oxyl (R2) with β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) and [2-O-(2-hydroxypropyl)]-β-cyclodextrin(2-HP-β-CD) in aqueous solution have been studied by electron spin resonance (ESR). The isotropic nitrogen hyperfine coupling constants aN and the rotational correlation time τC of the radicals change regularly after com-plexing with β-CD and 2-HP-β-CD. The magnitude of change in τC is in order: R1/2-HP-β-CD >R1/β-CD; R1/β-CD >R2/β-CD, R1/2-HP-β-CD >R2/2-HP-β-CD. |
