Abstract: The concentric cable of cobalt nanowires(nanotubes) encapsulated in carbon nanotubes has been prepared by using “second-order template” method, combined with electrodeposition. The products were characterized by SEM, TEM, XRD and Raman, respectively. The C/Co composite nanowires(nanotubes) were about 60μm in length, and the thickness can be adjusted by changing the reaction conditions. This method could be extended to construct an array of multi-layer nanotubes, composed of various metals, encapsulated in carbon nanotubes.
