Abstract: The equilibrium solubility of the saturated solution of LaCl3-ZnCl2-HCl(7%)-H2O(25℃) quaternary system was determined and the corresponding equilibrium diagram was constructed. The result shows that this system at 25℃is a complex with five solid-phase compounds LaCl3·7H2O, 3LaCl3·2ZnCl2·25H2O, LaCl3·2ZnCl2·11H2O, 2LaCl3·7ZnCl2·23H2O and ZnCl2·H2O·0.5HCl, respectively. Last four compounds have not yet been reported in literatures. The compound 3LaCl3·2ZnCl2·25H2O has been also characterized by X-ray diffrac-tion.When HCl(wt) >5.48% in liquid phase, Zinc chloride forms the compound ZnCl2·H2O·0.5HCl, and it has been verified in ZnCl2-HCl-H2O(25℃) ternary system. |
