Abstract: The electro-chemical process to produce sodium ferrate flocculent using solid polymer electrolyte (SPE) anion exchange membrane as separator has been described. Ferrate having a high redox potential(1.9V in acid solution) has been used as an oxidant in treatment of dye wastewater. The OH- transfer rate from the cathodic chamber to the anodic chamber and the steady state polarization have been investigated. Results show that both of the degra-dation and decolorization of dye, acid chrome blue are efficient. It is a first order reaction with a rate constant: k=7.8×10-4s-1.
