| Abstract: FT-IR spectra of different boron-containing supersaturated aqueous solutions of sodium borate have been obtained and during acidification, the supersaturated solution that react with different amount of azeotropic hydrochloric acid was recorded by FT-IR spectroscope and pH meter respectively. The recorded frequencies of the borate aqueous solution subtract that of water as a blank value and their assignments were given. The results showed that there might exist various polyborate anions in the supersaturated solution and the transformation mechanism of polyborate ions was discussed. |
