Abstract: Under the excitation of UV light,the luminescence of Eu3+ in Ca3La3(BO3)5 and the dependence of emission and excitation spectra on composition and structure have been studied.The charge-transfer excitation band of Eu3+ lies 200-290nm and has a maximum at 243nm.The emission spectrum of Eu3+ contains either strong emission of 5D0-7F2 and 5D0-7F4 transitions or rather strong emission of 5D0-7F1 transition.In Ca3La3(BO3)5 host,Eu3+ may occupy more than one site.The mechanism of concentration self-quenching of Eu3+ is a electric quadrupole-quadrupole interaction. |
